HOW TO FIND MY SKIN TYPE?

HOW TO FIND MY SKIN TYPE?

Many of us expect to have a beautiful skin and buy numerous products like creams, lotions, gels, moisturizers, etc. After trying all these, we don’t get what we expected. We buy products that our friends or relatives recommend. The products which worked on their skin will not work on your skin because your skin type is different from them. Even I did this mistake before knowing my skin type. The skin type will be different from person to person. Having a beautiful and glowing skin begins with KNOWING YOUR SKIN TYPE. So it is important to know your skin type and choose your products accordingly. Then you will definitely get a magical outlook.

SKIN TYPES:

There are five common skin types. They are,

  • Normal skin
  • dry skin
  • oil skin
  • combination skin
  • sensitive skin

HOW TO TEST MY SKIN TYPE:

The best time to test your skin is before sleep time. To identify your skin type, follow the steps one by one which are given below.

STEP 1: Cleanse your face before going to bed, and use a cleanser that is soap-free and contains fewer chemicals. Then, pat your face dry.

STEP 2: Because we are testing our skin, do not apply any night creams after cleansing.

STEP 3: After cleansing, simply go to bed. Make sure you don’t use AC on that day.

STEP 4: In the morning, after you've slept for a few hours, you'll discover your skin type.

You can test your skin in the morning also. (If you are testing your skin in the morning, you should not go out for 4-5 hours and make sure you are at a normal temperature.)

HOW TO DETERMINE MY SKIN TYPE:

NORMAL SKIN

In the morning, Normal-skinned people will not have excess

oil and dryness. They feel a sense of freshness even after so

many hours. Normal skin will be smooth, clear, no blemishes

and their skin pores will be normal.

DRY SKIN:

On dry skin, people will feel stretched and rough. They also

have white patches in some places. Dry skin will be flaky, dry,

dull, stretched, and produce little to no oil. Their skin pores

 will be small.

 OILY SKIN:

If your skin has oil in both its T-zone and C-zone, that is

If you feel greasy, shiny, and oily all over your face, then you

have oily skin. People with this type of skin will have large

pores and they will get frequent acne outbreaks like pimples

 and blackheads.

COMBINATION SKIN:

People with combination skin will have both dry and oily

skin. The oil will be seen in the T-zone (the T-zone includes

the forehead, nose, and chin) and the C-zone will be dry or

normal. (The C-zone includes the cheeks and the

 surrounding T-zone).

                                                                                                                                      SENSITIVE SKIN:

People with sensitive skin experience itching after cleansing

and even after a short period of time. Sensitive skin people

are prone to skin allergies causing redness, irritation, and

rashes due to genetics or external factors.

Note: Your skin type will not be permanently the same. There are many reasons like seasonal changes, intake of medicine, exposure to pollution and dust, growing age, and hormonal changes. So it is important to test your skin every TWO to THREE months.

I hope that this blog was informative and you liked it. So start by testing your skin. I have tested my skin and found my skin type. Mine is a combination skin. So leave a comment by answering, "WHAT IS YOUR SKIN TYPE?"
